What is a "buy-on"?

  • A buy-on is to purchase extra ice time for which the skater is not registered on. The procedure for purchasing a buy-on is on our policies page.

Are helmets mandatory in CanSkate?

  • Yes they are. Please refer to the CanSkate page for more information on helmets.

Can I receive a refund?

What is the ratio of CanSkaters to Coaches?

  • The ratio of CanSkaters to coaches is 1:10. This is the recommended number of skaters per coach set by Skate Canada. Professional assistants assist our professional coaches. Program assistants are skaters in our club who are trained to help the coaches instruct our programs. PGFSC follows standards set by the Skate Canada national organization in all our programs.

Where and when do I register?

  • The sign up for CanSkate occurs at the Rec Mart at the Pine Center Mall in Prince George the first week of September. Contact us for details.

Can preschoolers register in the program?

  • To register skaters must be age 3 by December 31st. Preschoolers can register in CanSkate. The sessions are 30 minutes in length. The Preschool sessions run on CanSkate sessions. For more information contact the PGFSC office. As the preschoolers progress they can be moved onto the 45 minute CanSkate sessions. Our coaches will contact you to move your child to different programs as their skill levels progress.
